2013 Envolve Russian River Pinot Noir
91 Pts, Wine Spectator
Tasting Notes: With aromas of deep plum, cedar and cherry pipe tobacco, this wine is a beautiful representation of its varietal.
Vineyard Notes: One of our favorite vineyards, tucked away in the southeast corner of the Russian River Valley, this vineyard designate boasts high quality Dijon clones and a unique terroir. The vines are entering their adolescent years and are truly improving in quality year after year.
Winemaker Notes: Harvested early in the morning to maintain the bright acidity that we look for to compliment its rich and earthy style. We de-stemmed the Pinot berries and T-Bin fermented each clone separately after a 5-day cold soak. Once finished with alcoholic fermentation, we drained the free run juice and pressed the skins into 100% French oak, 40% new. After one rack in 10 months, we blended the separate barrels of clones to showcase the talents and characteristics of each individual clone, 667, 777 & 115. Enjoy now or age for several years in your cellar.
Food Pairing: Perfectly integrated tannins and mouth feel make this a perfect pair with roasted duck, pan fried pork chops and wild rice risotto.
